For this reason, it is indispensable to verify the effects of damage prediction and preliminary measures to minimize the damage from possible disaster risks in future and to encourage quick recovery to a normal or better condition. In view of this objective, numerical simulation is a great powerful tool to satisfy the demand. Computational Safety Engineering lab is devoted to providing the novel ideas and innovative technologies for improving the safety and durability of various objects in regional and urban areas, and the resilience against various kinds of disasters and hazards by means of advanced numerical simulation. For that purpose, we are developing hyper-complex coupled numerical simulation methods for multi-physics phenomena of various (infra-)structures, ground and fluids, to clarify the mechanism of the damaging process, and developing optimal design techniques. In addition, we develop advanced visualization systems to intelligibly make numerical simulation data or existing information for disaster prevention more effective for practical disaster-prevention.
